Yeast on East

A bake timer that plans the whole day around the time you start. If something isn't working, write in and you'll get a reply from the person who built it.

You can also tap Settings → Support → Get in touch in the app, which fills in your app and iOS version for you. A screenshot helps more than anything else when reporting a bug.

Common questions

My bake alerts aren't arriving

Almost always notification permission. Open iOS Settings → Yeast on East → Notifications and check that Allow Notifications is on. The app also shows a warning in its own Settings screen when alerts are blocked, with a button that takes you straight there.

Note that quiet hours never hold back bake alerts. A 4am fold is the whole point, so only pantry and starter reminders respect them.

I paid, but the app still shows the paywall

Open Settings → Unlock → Restore, or tap Already bought it? Restore on the unlock screen. The purchase is tied to your Apple ID, so make sure you are signed in with the same one you bought it with. Restoring works on every device signed in to that Apple ID.

Can I move my recipes to a new phone?

Share each recipe as a .yoe file from its own screen and open it on the new device. An iPhone-to-iPhone transfer or an iCloud backup restore also brings everything across. There is no account, so recipes do not sync automatically between devices.

Why does the timer sometimes disagree with the widget?

Both read the same schedule, but iOS decides when a widget is allowed to redraw. The app is always right. Open it and the widget catches up.

The Live Activity disappeared during a long step

iOS ends Live Activities after about eight hours, and a cold retard can run twelve to sixteen. When that happens the scheduled notification and the widget take over, so the alert still arrives.

Why won't the app tell me if my ferment is still good?

Because it cannot know. Safety depends on salt, acidity, temperature and submersion, none of which the app measures. It tracks the dates you enter and nothing more. Trust your own judgement, and when in doubt throw it out.

Bugs and ideas

Both go to the same address. For a bug, the most useful things to include are what you expected, what happened instead, and a screenshot. If it involves timing, the recipe name and roughly when you started help a lot.
